Professional Certification Programs

Train with Me. Develop a Specialty. Do Work That Matters.

Over the course of my career, I’ve helped develop new approaches to coaching in several areas that matter deeply to me: creativity and the creative life, meaning and existential wellness, and the challenge of creating and sustaining healthy relationships.

In collaboration with Noble Manhattan Coaching, I’ve created three comprehensive professional certification programs that bring this work together with practical coach training. Each offers a distinctive specialty and a pathway for people who want to deepen their existing helping work, develop a new coaching specialty, or move toward an independent coaching practice.

You do not need to be an established coach to explore these programs. Depending on the program and your background, training in coaching fundamentals is available as part of your path.

Creativity

Certificate &
Diploma
Program

Help creative people create—and build a specialty around the challenges of the creative life.

Creativity coaching has been at the center of my work for decades. This program brings together what I’ve learned from working with thousands of writers, visual artists, performers, entrepreneurs, and other creative people and from writing extensively about creativity, creative anxiety, productivity, meaning, and the creative process.

The program prepares you to understand and coach the real challenges creative people face: getting started, maintaining a creative practice, completing work, dealing with anxiety and self-doubt, navigating career and marketplace issues, and creating a sustainable creative life.

It may be especially appealing if you are a coach looking for a specialty, a therapist or other helping professional who works with creative people, a working artist interested in adding another professional dimension to your life, or simply someone fascinated by creativity and the creative process.

Two levels of completion are available: the Creativity Coach Certificate and the more extensive Creativity Coach Diploma.

Existential Wellness Coach Certificate Program

Help people meet the deepest questions of living.

What makes a life feel meaningful? How do we choose our purposes? How do we live with uncertainty, disappointment, freedom, responsibility, mortality, and change? How do we create a life that feels genuinely ours?

These are not necessarily symptoms of illness. They are fundamental challenges of being human.

I created existential wellness coaching as a way of helping people engage with these challenges thoughtfully and practically. The program draws on existential philosophy, psychology, coaching, meaning and purpose work, mind/body practices, and other traditions to help participants develop a broad and humane approach to wellness.

As an existential wellness coach, you can help clients think more deeply about meaning and purpose, create personal philosophies of life, navigate periods of transition and uncertainty, and develop strategies for living more purposeful, passionate, and authentic lives.

The program also has a strong self-coaching dimension: while learning how to help others, you are invited to examine your own existential needs, choices, purposes, and ways of living.

Relationship Coach Certification Program

Help people create stronger, healthier, more satisfying relationships.

Human beings need relationships—and relationships are among the most challenging parts of being human.

I created the Relationship Coach Certification Program to prepare coaches and other helpers to work with individuals, couples, families, groups, and organizations on the interpersonal difficulties that affect virtually everyone.

The program addresses such areas as communication, boundaries, interpersonal conflict, intimacy, dating and relationship decisions, family dynamics, parenting, repairing relationships, beginning new relationships, and workplace relationships.

It is designed both for experienced helpers who want to add relationship coaching to their professional repertoire and for people entering the helping world who are especially drawn to relationship work. If you come to the program without previous coach training, a pathway is available to help you learn essential coaching fundamentals before undertaking the specialty work.

Which Program Is Right for You?

The simplest way to think about the three programs may be this:

If you want to help people create and sustain a creative life, explore the Creativity Coach Certificate & Diploma Program.

If you want to help people with questions of meaning, purpose, identity, choice, and how to live, explore the Existential Wellness Coach Certificate Program.

If you want to help people create stronger personal, family, intimate, and professional relationships, explore the Relationship Coach Certification Program.

All three programs are designed to provide substantial learning, practical application, and a professional credential upon successful completion. They are offered in collaboration with Noble Manhattan Coaching, an international coach-training organization founded in 1993.

Scholarships Are Available

I want these programs to be accessible to people who are genuinely drawn to the work but for whom the full tuition may be difficult. Scholarship opportunities are available, and I encourage you not to let financial considerations prevent you from exploring a program that feels right for you.

You’ll find complete information about curriculum, requirements, tuition, scholarships, and enrollment on each program’s website.
