I heard you on this morning on Public Radio - New Dimensions. What you said really spoke to me. I have been practicing veterinary medicine for over 20 years and I am burnt out on that and facing my future. It sounds like you know exactly what I am facing and you outlined the things that I have been drawn to doing. Now I know they are valid steps. Thanks

I know several people who could benefit from hearing you and reading your book. I often share links like this program with my friends. Unfortunately, the New Dimensions program is not a free pod cast. Perhaps you should look at having it on your website, I think it makes a great case for buying you book.

Best of luck.

As a professor of philosophy for twenty-five years, now retired, who never fit comfortably into academic philosophy because I thought philosophy should actually help us with our lives, I salute you for your bold effort to develop a philosophy of meaning. I own and have profited from many of your books, and admire the passion, skill, and insight you bring to the creative process. Expanding your work to life as a creative project seems like a natural progression.

I passionately agree with your view that depression is often a crisis in meaning, and can be addressed successfully in no other way. Bravo!

For me personally, what has been most helpful about your work has been the focus on anxiety. I have been able to identify anxiety rather than just suffering from it, and, once identified, I've been able to work through it with--to me--amazing success. Thank you! It's been transformative.

What a wonderful piece on Belfast. I too fell in love the city when I was a student, although I didn't realise that until I left. I studied in the University of Ulster in the 1980s and, unfortunately saw quite a bit of The Troubles (sometimes from close at hand - a bomb was detonated in the classroom above me during a statistics lesson one Friday morning) I left Northern Ireland to complete a post gradate diploma in Bristol and ended up living and working in England for 13 years.

I was delighted to find a rejuvenated city when I came back in the year 2000. Although I am now only about an hour from Belfast as I live back in my hometown of Warrenpoint, my husband and I love to take the kids and book into a hotel for a festival or just go for a weekend on our own to sample the cultural attractions - and of course enjoy the great Belfast blues vibe.

Your post has made me want to book another weekend there right now, so thank you for that!

Yes, I could feel why you are there. Wish I could find such a place. I hope to be a somewhat self taught writer someday. I am a visual artist , but love putting thoughts to paper. I said paper. Love it and ink. Then it can go to computer.
Enjoy being one of the newer artists of Belfast!
Write ON ! Sandy

[...] Dr. Eric Maisel, a phenomenal writer and author wrote this in a lesson plan for his class I’m taking: “It is vital for a person who has decided to turn germs of interest into full-fledged productive obsessions that he learn to distinguish between those things that interest him and those things that really interest him.” [...]
